Persistence　 - [【英文写作】]

there is a wise old saying that: in the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins - not by strength but by persistence.

althrough the power of persistence is infinite, it will not guarantee a success. a blind persistence will lead to nothing but a failure. To avoid a blind persistence, firstly you have to make sure it is the right thing for you to persist. at this stage, you can use the method of try-error, after a few attempts you will find out which direction will lead you to success. this will take you a long time but try to control it at its minimal as possible. Secondly, discard what doesn't work and stick with the right technique that works. that is the essence part of persistence and the ultimate key to success.

Build your self-confidence　 - [【英文写作】]

I always wonder that how could those confident people so sure about their achievement in life goals in the future? To seek the answer, I asked many people how to build self-confidence. someone told me to walk 25% faster than usual. others told me to read some inspired statements out loud in the morning. i used to do that but still feel very unconfident when doing something new.

Perhaps confidence grows through experience and repetition, because the only situation i feel confident is doing something that i have successful experience with. Psychologically, people tend to have doubts and insecurities when in a new situation. therefore, the most effective method to build your confidence may be to seperate the tricky new task into many that you are familiar with, and use your apprehension as a stimulus to take action. besides, you should step out of your comfort zone to increase your chance of encountering new situations, and never waste a opportunitiy to practice your abilities in all aspects.

Maybe your self-confidence will take a hit occasionally, since things will not always work out the way you hoped. But don't worry, failure provides you some information that success will not. Just smile broadly to your failure and always look at the bright side of life. If you want get back your confidence, outlining your awards and successes. that's what i do to restore my self-confidence.

Life and Pressure　 - [【英文写作】]

nowadays, pressure is everywhere. no matter how hard you try to avoid it, it will find you anyway. yesterday, a couple of lovers suicided after breaking up. they are both seniors at my university. Rumors says that the girl just successed in her GEE, but the boy failed unfortunately. and the girl wanted to break up but the boy refused. and then the boy got so angry as to killed the girl and threw her out of the window. after doing this, the boy felt so hopeless and committed suicide too. ... what a terrible story! As a schoolmate at their same age, i can understand the pressure they have. however, what pressure would make them to give up their life and jump up from 6 floors? what pressure cannot be handled? i don't know the detail story, perhaps they had a big fight before doing the stupid thing. maybe i don't have to right to criticise them for not being in such a situation, but i still want to express my view point that life is the most valuable thing in the world, we should not give up lives just because we want to. pressure should not be the reason for us to kill ourselves but the impetus of fighting for a better life. Quote an old chinses saying to end this article. "文王拘而演周易;仲尼厄而作春秋; 屈原放逐,乃赋离骚;左 丘失明阙有国语; 孙子膑脚,兵法修列; 不韦迁蜀,世传吕览;韩 非囚秦,说难,孤愤; 诗三百篇,大抵贤圣发愤之所为作也."

why are adults hard to learn foreign languages? Is it because they have a poor memory? maybe the answer is no.

adults have the experience of learning their first language. if they can use this experience to learn a new one, it will not be so hard. but in reality, it is quite the opposite. adults have problems not only to memorize new words but also use them for communication. are their language learning experience useless? of course not. the potential reason is that adults forgot how they have learnt their first language.

Imagine when we were all infants, we were curious about anything we see and hear. we imtated all we had heard, we asked about all we had saw and never fear of being wrong. However, when we grown up, we lost the curiosity about the world and fear so much of making mistakes. To avoid embarrassment, we continue to use the language we have already mastered and unwilling to practise a foreign languages.  

Beside the environment, we adults need another two things to master a foreign language: the enthusiasm of learning a language and the "courage" to use it. So, to learn a new language well, you have to be an infant again. "stay hungry,  stay foolish"!

How to study well in university? - [【英文写作】]

1. Go to Quiet Places to study.

 (eg. classroom for self-learner or library)
Quiet places will provide the best environment that urge you to do things effectively.

2. Make plans
You need plans to tell you what thing should be done at what time

3. Write Diary everyday
Diary just like a mirror, it will give you a reflection about you and all the things around you. When you are tire at the end of the day, why not write something that can be the records of your future success?

Pressure Creating - [【英文写作】]

I believe that only pressure could urge a person to act on something.
So, if you want to do something big but afraid of lacking pressure, you may try to create some

by the ways below:

1. create an environment (pressure created from outside)
2. let someone to supervise you (pressure created from outside)
3. emphasize the importance of achieving your goal (pressure created from insideside)

Confidence is a feeling about self,

while Excellence is other's feeling about you.

I would trust confidence rather than excellence, for the ultimate goal of life should be the pursuing of self-confidence, not excellence.
